The 12th Annual César E. Chávez Excellence Scholarship & Community Awards Gala will take place at the L.V. Eberhard Center at GVSU on Thursday, Oct. 20.
Hosted by the Committee to Honor César E. Chávez, the event honors excellence in the Hispanic community. Proceeds from ticket sales support the Lupe Ramos-Montigny “SI SE PUEDE” Legacy Endowed Scholarship.
The following awards will be bestowed upon these outstanding individuals:
Youth Award – Averica López, Aquinas College
La Familia Award – Sr. y Sra. Jose Martín y Leticia Pérez
Golden Citizen Award – Rev. Theodore James Kozlowski (Fr. Ted)
Hispanic Advocate – Grand Rapids Public Museum
Distinguished “Aguila” Award – Miguel Ángel Ramírez
