Mental Health: Rewriting the Narrative


Mental Health: Rewriting the Narrative is a WKTV Journal multimedia program designed to eradicate stigma regarding mental illness.

Produced with the help of Christy Buck and Jessica Jones of be nice., Rewriting the Narrative consists of:

  • Two one-hour roundtable discussions featuring local clinicians and residents with mental illness lived experience.
  • A filmed segment with Christy Buck, CEO and Founder of be nice., as she goes through their four-step action plan to recognize signs of mental illness and prevent suicide.
  • Four written articles that will lead readers through warning signs, how to take action, helpful tips on a variety of topics, and personal experiences to guide readers to a greater understanding of mental illness. Each article also contains additional resources such as links, pictures and embedded video clips.
