Calvin alumna and four-time Academy Award nominee, Jeannine Oppewall will share her ideas and experiences at the first Loeks Lecture in Film and Media. Oppewall has worked on such films as Seabiscuit, Catch Me If You Can, L.A. Confidential, and Pleasantville. Sponsored by Celebration! Cinema and the Dept. of Communication Arts and Sciences at Calvin College, Catch Me if You Can starring Leonardo DiCaprio will screen at Celebration! Cinema North 2121 Celebration Dr. NE, Grand Rapids on Tuesday, October 6 at 7 p.m. A Q&A session with Oppewall will follow. On Wednesday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m., Oppewall will present her lecture, ‘Design and Ideas in the Film Industry’ at the Convenant Fine Arts Center Recital Hall, Calvin College, 3201 Burton SE, Grand Rapids.
