Grand Rapids-based folk rock group Troll for Trout will be performing Saturday, April 9, at Grand Rapids’ One Trick Pony, 136 E. Fulton St.

The group is set to perform from 8 – 11 p.m. “or a few minutes after,” according to the group’s press release. The show is free.

Troll for Trout consists of Michael Crittenden on lead vocals and guitar; Brian Morrill on vocals and guitar; John Neil on keyboards; and Seth York on bass. Troll for Trout has a colorful 22-year history  – a legacy that’s earned the Michigan band a diehard following and spawned an impressive trove of acclaimed recordings.

Crittenden, founding member and chief songwriter, best sums it up this way: “Troll for Trout and our music has always been about a lifestyle.  It’s that excited feeling of leaving work early on a beautiful Friday afternoon and pointing your vehicle North where there’s no schedule.

“It’s about camping, cottaging, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, cooking outside, cocktail hour with good friends, good conversation around a campfire, river paths, reflecting, reading, and relaxing.  It’s about finding and reconnecting with the peace that resides in all of us, but gets buried by the day to day grind.”
