Each year, the City of Wyoming celebrates the spirit of the season by inviting residents to give back to the community; ’tis the season when local businesses and the City of Wyoming team up to collect toys for the Salvation Army Angel Tree. Last year, they collected more than 250 toys with the generous support of participating businesses and raffled off nearly $5,000 in prizes.

This year, the 6th Annual Wyoming Gives Back kicks off Thursday, Dec. 1 at Rogers Plaza Shopping Center on 28th Street from 6-8 pm. Attendees are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys to donate to the Salvation Army Angel Tree. Toy donations will earn attendees raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes.

A great lineup of local choirs and bands is scheduled to share the sounds of the season — including the Salvation Army Band, Tri-Unity Christian School Cherub Choir, Godwin Heights High School Chorale, Godwin Heights School Treble Choir, San Juan Diego Choir and the Wyoming Public Schools Jazz Band.

Bring your kids along to meet and visit with the Wyoming Police Department, the Wyoming Fire Department and, of course, Santa Claus! Hot chocolate and cookies will be served.
