One of the most influential jazz drummers of the 20th Century makes a stop at St. Cecilia Music Center this month.
Jack DeJohnette will perform one-night only April 21 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Cecilia Music Center, 24 Ranson Ave. NE. Concert tickets are $43 and $48 and can be purchased by calling St. Cecilia Music Center at 616-459-2224 or visiting the box office at 24 Ransom Ave. NE. DeJohnette’s career spans five decades and includes work with Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, and Thelonious Monk, to name a few. Known for his unique drumming style, DeJohnette is a NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship and Grammy Award winner. He will appear with his trio Ravi Coltrane and Matt Garrison.
A post-concert “Meet-the-artists” reception with a cash bar will be offered to all ticket-holders giving the audience the opportunity to meet DeJohnette and obtain signed CDs of his releases.
