Meet at the market for a fascinating class and wine-tasting (with plenty of snacks, of course), and then tour down to the UICA’s big-screen theatre to watch the charming vineyard flick, Bottle Shock. It’s a fantastic way to sip away your Sunday.
Ticket price: $48 Includes class registration, wine tasting, snacks, and movie admission. Wines will also be available for order.
THE CLASS:

“Old-versus-New, and The Judgment of Paris”
3-5 pm
@ Grand Rapids Downtown Market, 435 Ionia Ave. SW, Grand Rapids. Call 616.805.5308 for more info.

Join the Downtown Market’s Sommelier and a few special guests for a wine-tasting and class on wine history and the battle of California-versus-France. You’ll taste through eight wines (with snacks) as you learn about the history behind the infamous “Judgment of Paris,” which helped cement California wines into international fame. Learn what makes a world-class wine “world famous,” and explore exactly what the “old world” versus “new-world” characteristics are that make up your favorite wines.
