Annual Polish Festival set for last weekend in August

Polka and beer. What is not to like?

This annual Polish Festival returns Aug, 24 running for three days at Road Parks Circle.

 

The event is Aug. 24-26 and is free to the public. There will be live polka with a variety of music and dancing. Other activities include a Paczki eating contest, face painting, children’s activities, vendors and souvenirs, and the PRCUA Malbork Dance Ensemble. There also will be a beer tent.

 

A variety of authentic Polish food offerings will be available from Varsovia Catering Services, Knights of Columbus-Basilica of St. Adalbert’s, and Diamond Hall-St. Isidore’s Benevolent Society.

 

The event runs 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Friday bands are Dave Silvinski’s Noteables, Gerry Kaminski’s Polka Network, and Tri-City Drive Polka Band from Chicago. Saturday’s bands are Gary Szotko’s GPS Polka Band, Daryl Welton and The New Brass Express, and John Zalasko and The Project Polka Band.

 

On Sunday, activities run from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday’s bands are The Polski Chix Polka Band along with The Watkoskis.
