Byron Center takes it all as the group ABBA tribute group Arrival from Sweden performs at the Van Singel Fine Arts Center May 3.
ABBA is Sweden’s biggest music export ever, with more than 370 million records sold. Among the Swedish band’s famous hits includes “Dancing Queen,” “Knowing Me Knowing You,” “Take a Chance on Me,” and “Mamma Mia,” which later became the title of the stage production and 2008 film starring Meryl Streep. ABBA disbanded in 1982.
After a resurgence in interest in the band’s music from such films as “Muriel’s Wedding,” tribute groups such as Arrival from Sweden formed. Arrival from Sweden was founded by Sweden’s Vicky Zetterberg in 1995. The ABBA tribute band has toured more than 35 nations and has appeared in several TV and radio shows.
