Benton Harbor’s Sarett Nature Center hosts 5K run

The Sarett Nature Center will host the Spring Stampede, a unique 5K run, walk or Kids’ 1-mile Fun Run all on Sarett’s nature trails, Saturday, April 11.

 

The funds raised from this event will help Sarett Nature Center continue to provide environmental education programs for local school children and visitors each year.

 

The Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Run will start at 8:30 am followed by the 5K run and walk at 9:00 am.

 

Medals will be given to the top three 5K finishers in each age group. Special awards will be given to the overall male and female finishers in the run and walk. Members of Sarett Nature Center or SWMI RACERS receive a $3 discount. The Spring Stampede is part of the SWMI RACERS Community Race Series.

 

Race entry fee is $20 through March 21st, after the 21st registration increases to $25. Race day registration begins at 7:30 am.

 

The Fun Run entry fee is $1 and all participants will receive a finishers ribbon. You can register online at runsignup.com/Race/MI/BentonHarbor/SarettSpringStampede, drop off your entry form at Sarett, or mail it to: Mike Mahler at Sarett Nature Center, 2300 Benton Center Rd., Benton Harbor, MI 49022.
