One person was transported to a local hospital for evaluation after an ammonia leak at Country Fresh in Wyoming, according to the Wyoming Fire Department, who was called to the site on Oct. 14 at 8:30 p.m for this leak.
The situation was assessed and determined to be a small leak due to a pressure relief valve activating. Out of an abundance of caution, the building was evacuated for safety. One individual was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
The Wyoming Fire Department was assisted by the Grand Rapids Fire Department HAZMAT team, Kent County Emergency Management, and EGLE.
All Fire Department units recently cleared the scene and there is no indication of a hazard to the community.
