The Kentwood Police Department is investigating an assault on a 24-year-old woman that occurred Monday evening, July 20, at East Paris Nature Park in the 5900 block of East Paris Avenue SE.
The woman was walking on a trail when she states she was approached and physically assaulted by an unknown suspect. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 30 years old, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a white shirt with colored squares.
The victim reported that she was alone at the time of the assault, but there were other people in the park shortly before the incident occurred that likely saw the suspect. Investigators are asking anyone who was at East Paris Nature Park on Monday evening and may have witnessed suspicious activity or someone matching the suspect’s description to contact the Kentwood Police Department.
