The City of Kentwood’s annual free leaf and brush drop-off service to residents starts Saturday, Oct. 10, and runs through Nov. 25.
Residents may drop off loose leaves, brush, sticks, tree limbs, logs and grass clippings free of charge at the Kentwood Department of Public Works, 5068 Breton Ave. SE. If leaves are brought to the site in bags, residents must dump them out in the leaf pile and dispose of the bags in the trash. Bags cannot be left in the leaf pile.
This service is available for Kentwood residents only, and proof of residency is required.
Drop-off Hours:
Monday through Friday: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The drop-off site will be closed Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
Materials that cannot be accepted include trash, paper and plastic bags, dirt, concrete, asphalt, tires, rocks, construction materials, glass and metal.
The burning of leaves and brush as well as the accumulation of debris and leaves on a property or in the right-of-way are prohibited in the City of Kentwood. The drop-off service provides residents with a convenient way to keep their yards clear of leaves and debris during the fall.
“Fall is a beautiful time of year, but it also brings an abundance of leaves, sticks and other yard waste,” said Jim Wolford, Department of Public Works Deputy Director. “This free service gives residents an easy way to take care of that waste while also helping keep our streets and storm drains clear, reducing the risk of flooding and protecting the quality of our storm water.”
The leaf and brush drop-off site opens every fall and spring. Spring 2027 drop-off dates will be announced after the start of the new year.
