Join parents from throughout Kent ISD to learn from the experts and share your concerns. State Representatives Winnie Brinks, Tom Hooker and Rob VerHeulen plan to attend the Friends of Kent County Schools Grassroots meeting at 7 pm Thursday, Oct. 29 in the Coldwater Room of the Kent ISD Educational Service Center, 2930 Knapp, to share their perspective on education issues remaining on the legislature’s calendar this year. Also attending will be local law enforcement experts to share their thoughts on SB442, legislation that would allow people to carry concealed weapons in schools, bars, taverns, sporting arenas, day care centers and other venues previously identified as “gun-free zones.”
