Join indigenous chef, Camren Stott, at Blandford Nature Center for a program about decolonized food pathways, food sovereignty, and foraging. This is an interactive and immersive program with traditional ceremonies included.

 

Participants will be hands on in harvesting, foraging, preparing, and enjoying a traditional Algonquin meal of smoked eel, spiced crab apple, manoomin (wild rice) soup, and sumac tea. Participants will also learn edible wild plant identification & safety (how to harvest and prepare correctly) & how to incorporate this knowledge in modern culinary practice.

 

Your chef and facilitator, Camren Stott, is a member of The Native American Food Sovereignty Alliance.

 

Registrations must be received by Sept. 28, 2019, in order to obtain adequate supplies and ingredients.
