Mark the arrival of autumn by creating something beautiful to celebrate the season at several DIY craft offerings at the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station.

Offered by the W.K. Kellogg Conference Center and Manor House, the classes will meet in the beautiful Manor House or Carriage House, with plenty of space for proper distancing. Masks are required for all attendees.

“These events are wonderful opportunities to enjoy an evening with a friend and leave with something to decorate your home, or to give as a gift,” says Nicole Kokx, Manor House event coordinator.

Fused glass creations

Local artist Joan George will lead four, one-night workshops on creating a fused-glass window hanging. Choose which night works for you. Participants will learn to cut glass and can choose from many designs and colors for their pieces. All skill levels are welcome, and all sessions will be held at the Manor House.

The Fall-themed Fused Glass Sun Catcher workshop runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and is offered on Tuesday, Oct. 20 and on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The course fee is $45 for Manor House members and $50 for non-members. All supplies are provided.

Floral arrangements

Designer and artist Sherri Snyder will lead events that will focus on creating beautiful floral arrangements in the Carriage House classroom.

The Fall Floral Arrangement: Make and Take workshop, set for 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, will use fresh flowers to create a colorful arrangement using a pumpkin as a vessel. All skill levels are welcome. The course fee is $40 for Manor House members and $45 for non-members. Most supplies are provided; participants are asked to bring gloves and pruning shears.
