By Blandford Nature Center

Join Megan Williams, maker of Adventure Textiles, for a morning of foraging and dyeing at the Blandford Farm, 3143 Milo St NW, Grand Rapids, MI.

This workshop will cover how to identify, forage, and dye with many local plants/nuts/barks that are available in Michigan from late August to early October. Learn how to dye with walnuts, marigold, goldenrod, sumac and pokeberries. We’ll be working on a dye study together to achieve these colors on silk, cotton and wool and will use the samples to fill a dye journal complete with recipes to achieve similar colors at home.

Pre-registration is required. Program is for adult & ages 13+ with adult supervision.
