In celebration of National Drive Electric Week, a local group of electric car enthusiast will be showcasing some of the electric options available to the public Thursday, Sept. 19.

The event is from 4 – 8 p.m. at Leader Lights, 2450 44th St. SE, Kentwood.

The goal, according to organizers, is to raise awareness about the convenience and benefit of plug-in cars. There will be a representative from Consumers Energy to talk about the rebates and other incentives for this technology.
