November is Native American Heritage Month

Adrienne Keene (Cherokee Nation), a Native scholar, writer, blogger and activist, will present Conversations on Cultural Appropriation & Pop Culture as part of the Professionals of Color Lecture Series on Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 11:30 am-12:45 pm in Cook-DeWitte Auditorium on GVSU’s Allendale Campus. Passionate about reframing how the world sees contemporary Native cultures, Keene is the creator and author of “Native Appropriations,” a blog discussing cultural appropriation and stereotypes of Native peoples in fashion and other forms of pop culture.
