Two suspects are in custody following an armed carjacking that occurred in the area of the 2700 block of 44th Street SW.
At approximately 11 a.m. on Oct. 12, officers from the Wyoming Police Department responded to the 2700 block of 44th Street SW for a report of an armed carjacking that had just occurred. The preliminary investigation indicated that at least one armed individual had forcibly taken the victim’s vehicle and fled the area.
With assistance from multiple West Michigan law enforcement agencies, officers located the stolen vehicle in the 5100 block of 28th Street SE. The male and female suspects were charged with carjacking and lodged at the Kent County Correctional Facility.
All individuals involved in this incident were taken into custody approximately three hours after the incident occurred.
Incident investigation continues
The Wyoming Police Department extends its appreciation to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentwood Police Department for their assistance in apprehending the suspects and bringing this incident to a safe resolution.
