The Grand Rapids Symphony Society held its annual meeting on May 18 to appoint its leadership for the upcoming 2017-18 season.
The Society elected five new members to its Board of Directors — including Harold J. Voorhees, Sr., Owner/Manager of Cookies Unique, LLC — and re-elected 15 current directors to its Board in advance of the orchestra’s 88th season, beginning Sept. 1.
Voorhees’s business bakes cookies with a company logo on the cookie and a company message on the box for major hotels, banks, special events and more. One of their recipes, Steenstra’s Windmill Cookies, is a favorite among cookie aficionados.
Active in the community, Voorhees also represents the 8th District on the Kent County Michigan’s Board of Commissioners.
