WKTV airs launch of Russian cargo ship

Thursday, March 31, at noon, there will be coverage of the launch of the International Space Station Progress 63 Cargo Craft. The launch is scheduled for 12:23 p.m. The Progress is a Russian expendable cargo spacecraft. Its purpose is to deliver supplies needed to sustain human presence when in orbit. The Progress is headed to the International Space Station.

 

On Saturday, April 1, at 1 p.m., there will be coverage of the docking of the ISS Progress 63 Cargo Craft at the International Space Station. The Progress is scheduled to dock at 1:58 p.m. A Progress remains docked until shortly before being replaced with a new one. It is filled with waste, disconnected, and de-orbited, at which point it burns up in the atmosphere.
