‘Taste of Soul Sunday’ Feb. 18 celebrates African American history and culture at the GRPL

Join us as we celebrate African American history and culture at Taste of Soul SundayListenlearneatcreate, and preserve. Parking is always free on Sunday in the library lot. Metered spots on the street are free on Sunday as well.

 

Taste of Soul features live music from some of the hottest bands, including Karisa Wilson, Zion Lion, Noel Webley and Jazzy Friends Quintet, and Julius Hight featuring Bedrock.

 

In addition, area professors, authors and scholars share information about topics related to African American heritage and culture; families can participate in hands-on activities and crafts related to African American culture; and area restaurants provide free food samples to attendees (while supplies last).

 

Share your family history by adding to our archives — bring your photographs, letters, and journals during Taste of Soul Sunday. We will digitize your items and talk about how your family history contributes to the story of our community.
