Sept. 24 is Grand Haven’s ArtBike Parade and Family Art Day

artwalkGrand Haven Main Street has announced that its popular Preferred Automotive ArtBike Parade will once again be rolling through Town on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 11:30 am during the fourth day of the Grand Haven ArtWalk.

Participants are encouraged to decorate their bikes in any crazy way they’d like — showcase your artistic style or your business’s creative style. It’s a fun event for all ages. And if you’re not into riding, find a viewing spot on Washington Ave. so you won’t miss the wackiness.

Bike registration begins at 10:30 am; the parade begins at 11:30 am at the intersection of Washington Ave. and Third Street, and it ends at Harbor Drive. The public then gets to vote on their favorite bikes. Prizes are awarded by age group. Participation is free; winners will be announced at 2 pm.

Stick around after the parade for ArtWalk’s Family Art Day. Painting stations will be set up at the south end of the City Marina parking lot. Kids — and adults, too — can create works of art on canvas or wood. There will be burgers on the grill for all to enjoy.

ArtWalk 2016 is Sept. 21-Oct. 9.

These free events are sponsored by Preferred Automotive, Harbor Restaurants, Michigan Rag and Baker Lumber Co.
