Powerhouse Blues/Rock and R&B group Big Boss Blues is next to take the stage at the Wyoming Concerts in the Park series. The West Michigan group performs June 7 at 7 p.m. at Lamar Park, 2561 Porter St. SW. The concert is free.

 

The Wyoming Concerts in the Park series is rebroadcast on WKTV Wednesdays at 5 p.m. and Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 10 p.m.

 

Formed in 2012, the group, which includes Bill LaValley-vocals and bass, Joe Ferguson-vocals and harmonica, Charlie Schantz-vocals and guitar and Eric Busch on drums, has established itself a a regional blues fore, and now performs nearly 80 shows per year throughout Michigan. Big Boss Blues were the winners of the 2014 Lansing Capital Area Blues Society “Blues Brawl” and represented Michigan in the 2015 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.

 

From the group’s website, the band is know to have “a passion for powerhouse rhythm and blues music that transports their listeners to some steamy club, where the smoke is blue, the atmosphere is alive and the music is gut-wrenchingly powerful.”
