Celebrate Blandford Nature Center’s 50th Anniversary at Mary Jane’s Birthday Party March 10

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Blandford Nature Center engaging West Michigan students and families in the outdoors through enriching experiences in nature. Help commemorate the occasion by honoring the woman who started it all, Dr. Mary Jane Dockeray.

 

 Community members are invited to a Pancake Brunch to celebrate founder Dr. Mary Jane Dockeray’s 91st birthday on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 9:30-11:30 am. The event will be held at Blandford Nature Center located at 1715 Hillburn Ave NW, Grand Rapids MI 49504.
“Mary Jane is a local icon in our community,” said Jason Meyer, President & CEO. “Everywhere that Mary Jane goes, people remember her coming to their classroom when they were children. She’s made a deep and lasting impact on our community and it’s important to recognize the fact that Blandford literally would not have come into existence 50 years ago without her”.

Guests can mingle with Mary Jane, enjoy a pancake brunch, learn about Blandford’s vision for the next 50 years from President & CEO Jason Meyer and hear from Mary Jane herself. Guests also have the chance to make a financial gift to Blandford Nature Center in honor of Mary Jane. Tickets are $50 per person and the funds will go towards Blandford Nature Center programming and services.
