Bicycle programs offered at both Kentwood and Wyoming libraries

Spring is here and before you head out to hit the roads this summer, now is a good time to do a bicycle check to make sure your ride is ready.

Both KDL Kentwood and Wyoming branches will be hosting such a program, “Bike Basics for Families.” The Wyoming Branch, located at 3350 Michael Ave. SW, will have the program on Wednesday, May 10, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. The KDL Kentwood Branch, located at 4950 Breton Ave. SW, will have the program a few days before, on Saturday, May 6, form 11 a.m. – noon.

The fun, informative class session, is provided by the KDL and the League of American Bicyclists’ certified instructors. The program introduces the Smart Cycling concepts for all ages, followed by a short, optional ride to practice what you’ve learned. An adult must accompany children.

Bicycles and helmets are required to participate in the riding segment. Each session is limited to 10 families with pre-registration required. Register one slot for the whole family.
